Nagraj Gollapudi08-Jan-2015Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard are not part of 15-man West Indies World Cup squad according to Dinanath Ramnarine, the former West Indies legspinner and former longtime president of West Indies Players Association.”Confirmed Bravo and Pollard are both out of the 2015 WC,” Ramnarine, who was the WIPA CEO and president between 2001 and 2012, said on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon Caribbean time. Ramnarine’s tweet came as a surprise considering the WICB has not yet announced officially the World Cup squad even if there has been a growing speculation about Bravo and Pollard missing out once they were left out of the ODI series in South Africa. Asked the source of his information, Ramnarine said he could not reveal but said it was true.The WICB, when contacted by ESPNcricinfo, did not want to respond to Ramnarine’s statement, saying that they would “neither confirm nor deny” the news and asked to await a formal announcement likely on Saturday if not later Friday once the first Twenty20 between South Africa and West Indies is over.There have been no public comments made by Bravo and Pollard. The two are currently with the West Indies squad for the three-match Twenty20 series.Last month Clive Lloyd’s selection panel dropped the trio of Bravo, Pollard and Darren Sammy from the five-match ODI series against South Africa, starting on January 16. Jason Holder, an inexperienced fast bowler, replaced Bravo as the ODI captain while Sammy was later added back into the squad.The change in the ODI leadership came two months after West Indies pulled out of their tour to India with one ODI, one T20 and three Tests pending, due to a protracted disagreement between the players, the board and the players’ association over the payment structure specified by the players’ revised contracts. Bravo had vocalised the players’ stance in several letters to the WICB and WIPA.According to Ramanarine, the WICB had ignored the advice of its own task force set up to investigate the contracts dispute, which lead to the players pulling out of the India tour. The task force – comprising Michael Gordon, Wes Hall and Richard Cheltenham – said all three parties including WICB, WIPA and the players carried the blame for the debacle. “WICB set up their own Task Force – Task Force findings – WICB wrong, WIPA wrong and Players wrong End result – Pollard & Bravo get dropped,” Ramnarine, who tussled long, hard and frequently with WICB during his WIPA role, said.The WICB has remained silent despite vehement criticism to explain the reasoning behind the dropping of the trio from some eminent former West Indies players like Michael Holding and even St Vincent and Grenadines Prime Minister Ralph Gonsalves.In a guest column on ESPNcricinfo, Holding said the players were being punished by the administrators for no reason. What was appalling for him was how a player like Bravo, who had made it in the ICC ODI Team of 2014, could not find a place in the West Indies squad.In a similar scathing assessment, Gonsalves blamed WICB president Dave Cameron for “dishonouring” the agreement that the players who abandoned the India tour in October would not be victimised.According to Ralph Thorne, the players’ legal counsel, the inclusion of the dropped trio in the Twenty20 leg of the South Africa series was just a “consolation prize” and a deliberate move by the WICB to push aside his clients from participating in the World Cup. “Their retention in the Twenty20 team is not merely a consolation prize, but that inclusion, joined with their exclusion from the ODI team, is a gentle form of ruthlessness that disqualifies them from the most meaningful opportunity to compete for a place in the World Cup squad.”

ويلتقي بيراميدز والجيش الرواندي غدًا، الجمعة، في تمام الساعة السادسة مساءً بتوقيت “القاهرة” على ملعب “الدفاع الجوي”.

وقال هاردي لـ”بطولات”: “لقد وصلنا إلى القاهرة الثلاثاء الماضي، كان الاستقبال جيدًا للغاية من جانب مسئولي بيراميدز”.

وأضاف: “تدربنا بالأمس ولدينا حصة أخيرة على ملعب المباراة، نحن جاهزون وهناك استعداد قوي لمواجهة بيراميدز”.

وتابع: “لقد جهز المدرب اللاعبين من أجل تلك المباراة، أراح بعضهم عن مباراة مارين (في الدوري الرواندي انتهت 2-2) خوفًا من الإصابات”.

وواصل: “سنبذل قصارى جهدنا أمام بيراميدز، نعلم أن المباراة صعبة للغاية ولكننا قادرين على تسجيل هدف في القاهرة”.

واختتم: “لقد شاهد المدرب مباراة بيراميدز والزمالك وقام بتحليل أداء المنافس، فهو يعتقد أن لدينا فرصة للتأهل لدور المجموعات”.

تحدث حازم إمام، عضو اتحاد الكرة عن هزيمة منتخب مصر أمام تونس بنتيجة 3-1 في المباراة الودية التي جمعت بينهما مساء اليوم.

وكان منتخب مصر قد فاز في مباراته الماضية أمام إثيوبيا بختام تصفيات كأس أمم إفريقيا، بينما سقط مساء اليوم أمام تونس في اللقاء الودي.

وقال حازم إمام في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “بالتأكيد الخسارة تزعج، لكن كان يجب أن تتعرض لخسارة لكي تعرف أين تقف وكيف تسيير، كل لاعبي المنتخب جاءوا من راحة وهذه أول مباراة هذا الموسم”.

وتابع: “خوض مباراة أمام منتخب كبير مثل تونس، بالتأكيد اللاعبين ليسوا في كامل لياقتهم ولأول مرة يلعبون مع بعض، والمواجهة كانت صعبة وسنتعلم منها، وهذا المعسكر تحديدًا الأمور لم تكن على ما يرام، أندية كانت تقول أن مباريات المنتخب سهلة وتحصيل حاصل، واللاعبون يٌشاهدون ذلك، الأجواء المحيطة بهذا المعسكر غير جيد”.

وأردف: “البعض كان يُقلل من المباراة الودية، وهذا أخذ من اللاعبين، وظروف هذه المباراة لا أعتقد أنها ستتكرر مرة أخرى، وأتمنى الفترة القادمة الجميع يعطي الاهتمام الأكبر للمنتخب”.

وأكمل: “اليوم خسرنا وفي حالة حزن، لكن ليس هذا قوام المنتخب كله، هناك لاعبون صغار السن وأول مرة يٌشاركون، أمام منتخب قوي ويلعبون في أوروبا مع أنديتهم، عكس اللاعبين المصريين الذين لم يخوضوا مواجهات مع أنديته”.

وأوضح: “أنا حزين، لكن هذه ليست الحالة الطبيعي لـ منتخب مصر، الفترة القادمة ستكون الأولوية لمنتخب مصر في كل المعسكرات القادمة، الناس ستنتقد المنتخب بعد الهزيمة، لكن هذا طبيعي”.

واستطرد عضو اتحاد الكرة: “واجهنا فريقا مكتمل ولاعبون لعبوا مع أنديتهم مباريات وجاهزون أكثر من اللاعبين المحليين عندنا، هناك عوامل ضدنا لا تجعلنا نظهر بالشكل الطبيعي”.

وأضاف: “التجربة مفيدة اليوم، الهزيمة قد تكون مفيدة في بعض الأوقات، لأن الانتصارات المتتالية قد تصنع غشاوة على بعض العيوب، وأقول للناس لا تقلقوا هذا ليس مستوى منتخب مصر، اللاعبون غير جاهزين بدنيًا وأنا أشعر بهم”.

واختتم: “تجربة أليمة لأننا لم نكن نخسر، لكن لا يمكن أن نكون في حالتنا البدنية لأن هناك إصابات كثيرة ولاعبين غير جاهزين بدنيًا، وخط الدفاع لأول مرة يلعب مع بعضه، أنا لست قلقًا على المنتخب، وقد يكون بعد شهر هذا المنتخب بنفس اللاعبين سيقدمون شكلاً مختلفًا”.

Australia’s desire to carry stability and continuity into the forthcoming Ashes battle will be reflected when the national selector, John Inverarity, unveils the squad for the first Test in Brisbane on Tuesday, in a departure from the chaotic and surprising choices that characterised the start of the past two series against England.Unlike Xavier Doherty’s usurping of Nathan Hauritz in 2010, or the surprising selection of Ashton Agar ahead of Nathan Lyon at Trent Bridge earlier this year, there will be few hunches taken by Inverarity’s panel, especially after the cricketers in their Ashes sights put in largely encouraging displays in the round of first-class matches that concluded on Saturday. Mitchell Johnson and George Bailey are heavily favoured to be the additions to the XI who took the field at The Oval, minus the injured Mitchell Starc.Shane Watson’s likely inability to bowl at the Gabba due to his recovery from a hamstring problem has created the only element of uncertainty around the team. As a result, the Tasmania allrounder James Faulkner is expected to keep his place in the squad after a debut in the final Test in England, with conditions then weighed up before it is decided whether to take four or five bowlers into the match.This decision will be linked to the inclusion of a sixth batsman, with Bailey widely expected to take his place in the squad after performing creditably for Tasmania in his only Shield appearance since returning from India. Após deixar o gramado do Morumbi de ambulância durante o empate sem gols com o São Paulo, o lateral-esquerdo Rafael Carioca, do Red Bull, passará a noite em observação no Hospital São Luiz do Morumbi.

De acordo com a assessoria de imprensa do clube, ele passa bem, está consciente e já conversa normalmente com os médicos. Mesmo assim, o jogador de 26 anos passará por uma bateria de exames.

Rafael teve um choque de cabeça com o lateral-direito Igor Vinícius, do São Paulo, já no fim da partida. O são-paulino sofreu um corte e continuou no jogo, mas o atleta do Red Bull teve uma convulsão ao cair no gramado e por isso precisou ser conduzido de ambulância até o hospital.

O lance preocupou as duas equipes, tanto que o médico José Sanchez, do São Paulo, auxiliou no atendimento.

Depois de confirmar Leandro Carvalho por mais tempo vinculado, o Botafogo está muito perto de oficializar a renovação contratual de outro jogador. Trata-se de João Paulo, cujo o empresário, Christian Manica, chega ao Rio de Janeiro nesta quinta-feira para suportar a sacramentação do novo acordo.

Xodó dos botafoguenses, João passará a ter vínculo até dezembro de 2022 – o atual, cabe ressaltar, expira ao fim deste ano. A informação inicial foi divulgada pelo repórter Thiago Veras, da Rádio Tupi, e, em seguida, confirmada pelo LANCE!. O Alvinegro tem o receio de ver o meio-campista livre para assinar um pré-contrato já no meio desta temporada, caso não renovasse.

João Paulo chegou ao Botafogo em janeiro de 2017. Sob o comando de Jair Ventura, disputou a Libertadores daquele ano, passou a se destacar e rapidamente caiu nas graças da torcida. Já em março de 2018 veio o maior contratempo da carreira de João, que fraturou a tíbia e a fíbula, no Carioca.

Foram oito meses de recuperação. João Paulo retornou aos gramados na partida que também marcou a despedida de Jefferson, contra o Paraná, pela penúltima rodada do Brasileiro, no Estádio Nilton Santos. Na mesma semana, o atleta de 27 anos comentou a respeito da longa recuperação:

-Nunca tinha encarado uma lesão séria como essa e vivia uma grande expectativa. Mas a cabeça sempre esteve no lugar e esse foi o grande ponto para eu ter feito uma grande reabilitação. Tentei me concentrar ao máximo mesmo sendo muito difícil por tudo que passei, mas estava tranquilo e bem focado. Sabia que poderia ajudar de alguma forma e naqueles momentos próximos de entrar eu fiquei concentrado no que eu poderia fazer.
