Ele quer o time jogando nos contra-ataques e priorizando a marcação.

Real Madrid’s Isco keen on Carlo Ancelotti and James Rodriguez reunion at Everton

Director of Football Marcel Brands can build Everton their dream midfield unit by securing Isco’s services from Real Madrid amid reports the Spaniard wishes to reunite with Carlo Ancelotti and James Rodriguez.

What’s the word?

According to the Mirror, Isco is keen to link up with Ancelotti and Rodriguez once more following their time together at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Isco has been cast aside by Galacticos boss Zinedine Zidane and is no longer considered a part of the Frenchman’s plans, allowing for the Los Blancos hierarchy to make the 28-year-old available for a potential January transfer.

Real intend to utilise the mid-season loan market in hope of offloading the 38-cap Spain international, but will insist that any deal features an obligation to buy Isco at the end of the season for around £18million plus add-ons.

Isco’s representatives have been made aware of Real’s decision and are actively sounding out interest in England and Italy, though a move to the Premier League is thought to appeal more to the Benalmadena-born maestro.

Everton are deemed to be the early leaders in the race to sign Isco, where the Los Blancos outcast’s close friend Rodriguez would love to see him join, while former potential suitors Arsenal and Juventus are not believed to be pushing for a deal at present.

Isco featured 106 times under Ancelotti during the Italian’s tenure in charge of Real Madrid, in which the midfield playmaker provided 17 goals and 22 assists as they secured the 2013/14 Champions League and 2014/15 UEFA Super Cup.

Ancelotti was full of admiration for Isco when Los Blancos President Florentino Perez agreed a deal worth around €27m (£23m) with Malaga in 2013, noting via The Guardian: “It’s clear he has a lot of quality. Spain’s Under-21s side has a lot of great players and he is one of the best. He could get into any team in the world, so he could also play for Madrid.”

A dream unit

Ancelotti may now get the chance to see Isco play for Everton, in what could be a dream unit in royal blue featuring his former creative partner and friend Rodriguez should Brands reach an agreement with Real Madrid.

Isco would bring another level of experience to Merseyside after a summer masterclass in acquiring Rodriguez for free, as the Spaniard went on to clinch three further Champions League honours after Ancelotti’s departure, along with two La Liga crowns, two Spanish Super Cups, two UEFA Super Cups and three FIFA Club World Cups.

His outcast status under Zidane has ensured the 28-year-old has only started two of his five La Liga appearances for the campaign totalling a mere 177 minutes of game time, but has contributed goals and assists in every Spanish top-flight season since moving to Madrid.

Isco also created a big chance to score and missed a big chance in his limited game time this term, per SofaScore, while creating four glaring opportunities and missing two on route to two assists and one goal last term thanks to an average of 1.0 key balls and 0.8 shots a game.

Of his 31 accurate passes per game, 21.4 also came in the opponent’s half with an 82% success rate, while completing 73% of his dribbles, winning 58% of his ground duels, making 0.6 tackles, and playing 1.3 chipped passes with a 60% accuracy rating.

Rodriguez hardly enjoyed a stellar final year at the Santiago Bernabeu, either, with just one goal and one assist in an injury-ravished campaign but has scored three goals and assisted a further three in six Premier League appearances for Everton since his arrival.

Ancelotti would also benefit vastly from Isco’s versatility, given the Spanish ace can play in wide roles on either side of the field along with through the centre, offering the Italian multiple options in one.

For a player once valued as high as £81m by Transfermarkt in 2018, a loan with an £18m obligation could prove to be one of Everton’s best pieces of business possible come January.

AND in other news, an “intelligent” maestro may have played his final game for Everton already after his recent comments.

West Ham news: Ally McCoist says Tarkowski shouldn’t join the Hammers

It seems that West Ham United are still going strong for James Tarkowski. A defender is surely very high on David Moyes’ list of transfer priorities and Burnley’s ace seems to fit the bill.

However, in all likelihood, even if the Hammers somehow get this deal over the line, it won’t be a cheap operation, that much is certain. Recently, West Ham have bid around £27m to land their target but the Clarets want more.

And they want a lot of money. Following Nathan Ake’s switch from Bournemouth to Manchester City, the defenders’ price tags in general have suddenly skyrocketed. For that reason, Burnley want nearly double the initial offer.

But when everything is said and done, Tarkowski just might be worth that much. And for that reason, it’s quite surprising to Ally McCoist that his quality hasn’t attracted more suitors.

In fact, he could definitely do much better than West Ham. Here’s what he had to say about the whole transfer saga for TalkSPORT: “When you talk about £27m. That’s a great price because he’s a good player, he’s definitely a good player. You’re taking a chance on that all day.

“It would make sense to me [if he left], but I thought there would be more clubs interested, to tell you the truth. And if you’re sitting in his shoes, is it a good move for him going to West Ham at this moment in time? I’m not sure it is. Maybe he’s just hanging on to see what will happen.”

Verdict

It does feel like West Ham are being quite ambitious with this signing, simply because it may cost them a small fortune. With the current circumstances limiting their budget greatly, it does beg the question whether they even have the financial power to get this deal over the line.

And if so, it will undoubtedly deplete the warchest almost entirely, leaving nothing more for additional reinforcements.

Is that the right way to go?

Newcastle United: Magpies to rival Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham for Juventus ace Gonzalo Higuain

Newcastle United are reportedly said to be rivalling fellow Premier League teams Aston Villa, Fulham and West Ham United for Juventus ace Gonzalo Higuain, according to Calcio Mercato.

As per the outlet, Andrea Pirlo does not see the former Chelsea man in his plans for the new 2020/21 season and is thus keen to offload him in the summer transfer window.

The Italian giants are currently looking at the possibility of terminating his contract, or as an alternative trying to find a suitable buyer, with plenty of suitors in the top flight, however Higuain is not thought to be keen on moving to any of them.

Nevertheless, Steve Bruce could look to try and persuade him to move to St. James’ Park given his pedigree in the beautiful game.

Higuain has scored a rather impressive 306 goals in his club career so far, playing for the likes of Real Madrid, SSC Napoli and AC Milan, with a further 31 strikes while playing for Argentina, giving him a grand total of 337 goals.

However, the 32-year old did not enjoy the best of seasons while playing under Italian coach Maurizio Sarri, as he managed to score just 11 times in 44 games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt),  giving him a strike rate of one in four.

Nevertheless, currently valued at £13.5 million on the market, the striker would still provide some experience in the North East and he has shown before that he has the goal-scoring touch.

At that kind of price, Higuain may turn out to be a bit of a gem if he makes the move to the Tyneside club.

Coventry: Matt Godden touches on Callum O’Hare link

Coventry City player Matt Godden has said that he and his teammates would ‘love’ to see Callum O’Hare return to the club this summer.

The Aston Villa academy graduate saw his contract come to an end at Villa Park in June, leading to much speculation that he would return to Coventry, having spent the 2019/2020 season on loan with Mark Robins’ side.

O’Hare performed well during his time with the Sky Blues, scoring four goals and providing seven assists in the process.

The youngster’s form played a big part in the club’s automatic promotion to the Championship via League One and his former teammate and Coventry striker Godden has now called on him to return.

Speaking to CoventryLIVE, Godden revealed his thoughts on a potential return for O’Hare.

“Every single person at the club would love him back.

“He knows what all the boys think of him and obviously it’s a massive decision for him in his career so I don’t blame him for taking his time.

“But the fans, players especially and the staff as well all love him. He’s a top lad. He’s a quiet one but he’s no trouble and he’s one hell of a player as well.”

During his time at Villa, O’Hare made just nine appearances for the first team, appearing 61 times at under-23 level.

Callum O’Hare’s role at Coventry over the last 12 months has been so important and his return would be a massive boost as they look to take on the challenge of the Championship.

The young midfield talent will, like all at the Sky Blues, be relishing the chance, if he returns, to test his ability in England’s second tier.

Talk of a move has gone fairly quiet in the last few weeks, but you have to feel Coventry are still in pole position.

Everton fans discuss Michael Keane on 3-year anniversary

Everton fans have been embroiled in another debate this week after Wednesday marked the three-year anniversary of the club signing centre-back Michael Keane.

The Toffees landed the defender in a then club-record-equalling £30m from Premier League rivals Burnley.

But it seems as if the Englishman divides opinion at Goodison Park.

Some supporters have acknowledged his impact at the Merseyside outfit…

The 27-year-old has become a regular for the Toffees ever since his move, featuring in a total of 98 matches, whilst this season he’s been first-choice centre-back having racked up 25 appearances in all competitions, via Transfermarkt.

Despite being trusted by current boss Carlo Ancelotti, there are many fans who simply do not rate Keane.

How big of an Everton fan are you? Can you spot Mikel Arteta from Graham Stuart? This quiz will test your knowledge, try it if you’re brave enough…

World Class score: 95% | Expert score: 80% | Veteran score: 65% | Intermediate score: 45% | Amateur score: 30% | Try Again: 5%

One member of the Toffees faithful believes he has been one of the worst signings he’s ever seen at the club whilst others described him as “bang average”.

There was even a shout to sell him – Transfermarkt currently value him at £18m, which is a whopping £12m decrease on what Everton originally paid.

Further supporters referenced Keane’s partnership with former loan star Kurt Zouma as a big positive, and that he’s a bit more consistent than Yerry Mina, but admittedly, he could do with a regular partner to gel with in Ancelotti’s backline.

With Keane under contract at Goodison Park for at least another two seasons, it gives him plenty of time to live up to that big-money pricetag and prove that he is indeed a “scapegoat” for some fans.

Newcastle signing Philippe Coutinho could be a massive coup

According to Mundo Deportivo, Mauricio Pochettino has already earmarked Philippe Coutinho as one of his first major wishes if he becomes Newcastle’s new manager.

What’s the word?

The Magpies could be set to enter a new era if the proposed takeover goes through soon, and with it, there will be major questions about whether there will be a new manager at the helm.

One man who has been linked with the job in recent days and weeks is former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino. And now, according to Spanish publication, Mundo Deportivo, the Argentine has already “advanced his first wish” of bringing Barcelona star Coutinho to St James’ Park.

Best of the Decade: Top scorers & creators – Can you name them?

World Class score: 95% | Expert score: 80% | Veteran score: 65% | Intermediate score: 45% | Amateur score: 30% | Try Again: 5%

The report claims however that the Catalan giants will not lower their asking price for the Brazilian even despite the current climate, as Barcelona boss Quique Setien is “willing to mentally recover” the former Liverpool ace.

Statement

This would be the kind of statement signing that would truly announce the new era at the club.

Whilst Coutinho may have been deemed surplus to requirements at Barcelona and shipped out on loan to Bayern Munich this season, that doesn’t take away from the fact he continues to be a play-maker belonging in the highest bracket.

As per Transfermarkt, he had scored nine goals and provided a further eight assists in 32 games for the Bundesliga side this season, and would arrive at St James’ Park with a worldwide reputation.

He would be the kind of statement signing that would send shockwaves across Europe. Whilst Pochettino’s arrival as manager would be one thing, bringing in a bona-fide superstar like Coutinho would raise the expectation levels and deliver a message about the club’s new intent.

Liverpool: Predicted XI to take on Brighton and Hove Albion

Liverpool will be hoping to build on their 2-0 win against Aston Villa and completely bury their previous away loss to Manchester City.

The Reds, who have already been crowned Premier League champions, got back to winning ways after their victory against a struggling Villa side on Sunday. Jurgen Klopp and his men will now gear up to for their next fixture, a trip to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion.

Since Liverpool clinched the title, a few players haven’t been performing at their usual standards, which could suggest that a switch-up is on the cards for the starting XI that Klopp picks to face the Seagulls.

Transfer Tavern have predicted how the champions might set up this evening…

The team may welcome back Roberto Firmino after he was benched in favour of Divock Origi against Villa. However, the Belgian struggled to make much of an impact, failing to record a single shot, so it could be a good time to reunite the usual front three and push for maximum points.

Sadio Mane bagged himself a goal so there’s no reason why he should be dropped and Mohamed Salah is chasing this season’s Golden Boot. After Jamie Vardy’s brace against Crystal Palace, the Egyptian find himself playing catch-up on the Leicester man in the scoring charts.

Liverpool’s midfield continues to be a conundrum but Jordan Henderson should start in order to assert some structure. Naby Keita had a great game last time out, providing an assist and making two key passes, and deserves to keep his spot, with Fabinho also featuring again in order to anchor the midfield.

The back four will likely see a change or two and, in this case, it could be the two full-backs, who between them lost possession 45 times against Aston Villa (via Sofascore). For Premier League champions, that is far too high of a statistic. Trent Alexander-Arnold could drop to the bench for some overdue rest whilst Neco Williams, a substitute in the last three games, earns a spot in the starting lineup.

Andy Robertson hasn’t looked himself in the past two games, earning a woeful rating of 5.9 against Manchester City. James Milner didn’t feature on the bench on Sunday as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury so it could be a big opportunity for young left-back Yasser Larouci to step up for what would be his Premier League debut.
