Liverpool still see getting a deal done for Romeo Lavia as a priority this summer, with Football Insider reporting that money is being saved in order to fund a bid for the midfielder.
What is the value of Romeo Lavia?
The 19-year-old has only been with Southampton for one season, but his showings for the Saints could now have driven his price tag up a lot more than what the club initially snapped him up for. The Championship outfit feel they could generate around £50m for the midfielder despite his age, so it means that any potential deal now for the Belgian could command quite a hefty fee.
It's a large amount to ask for a youngster who has only ever had one campaign of Premier League football under his belt in his career. Having had to make do with reserve team football for Man City, it was Southampton who gave him an escape back at the beginning of 2022/23. He went on to play in 29 league games for the Saints, with 26 starts, and even bagged a goal along the way. Having already been entrusted to be a first-team regular in the side despite his youth, he was one of the club's shining lights in a season that ultimately ended in relegation.
With the Saints now facing at least one year of Championship football, there are several sides all willing to keep Lavia in the top flight of English football. Liverpool are one of those clubs, with the Reds eager to get a deal done for the midfielder. A recent report claimed they had received positive noises from the player's own camp and he is seemingly very high up on the wanted list is this latest update is anything to go by.
According to a report from Football Insider, Liverpool are actually keeping money to one side in order to fund an offer for Lavia, so much so it may be stalling other deals.
Despite being linked with several centre-backs, namely Perr Schuurs in this report, FSG are now saving a larger amount of funds in order to be able to launch a move to sign the Southampton ace instead. The club have yet to make an official offer for the 19-year-old, but it does appear as though a bid could certainly be on their agenda.
It's no surprise to see all the interest in attaining Lavia's services. He's received some of the highest praise that any player can get, with treble-winning boss Pep Guardiola hailing how impressive the midfielder has been with Southampton. The Catalan managed Lavia at Man City, and having let him join the Saints due to a lack of opportunities behind Rodri, has since admitted that City think the 19-year-old is "incredible" and that he is "really impressed" with how the Belgian has performed for the now-EFL side.
If Liverpool do manage to snag him away from Southampton then, they would get themselves a real talent who can benefit them both now and potentially for the next decade in the Premier League.
Aston Villa are reportedly interested in Stade Rennais winger Jeremy Doku, as Unai Emery sets to bolster his side this summer ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
The Spaniard has started preparations well for his first full season in charge, recruiting Youri Tielemans and Pau Torres, with Moussa Diaby also reported to be nearing an agreement.
With Monchi on board, the Villans could take their progression to a new level in signing Doku, who shone in Ligue 1 last term.
Could Aston Villa sign Jeremy Doku?
As reported by Sports Zone (via Get French Football News), the 21-year-old ‘remains a target’ for Villa, who were primarily speculated to be interested in the winger as a back-up to Diaby.
Now, the Villans are reported to want to add the Belgian regardless, with Monchi looking to add talent in wide areas this summer.
Rennes are wanting a fee in the region of €40m (£35m) for the forward.
How good is Jeremy Doku?
Hailed as “superb” by talent scout Jacek Kulig, the youngster has asserted himself as one of the most threatening wide players in Europe, as supported by his statistics.
In Ligue 1 last season, the Belgium international averaged a mammoth 6.69 successful take-ons per 90, showcasing the danger he brings in possession in an area that ranked him in the top 1% of those in his position in Europe’s top five leagues, via FBref.
For Villa, the introduction of Doku could show the club’s desire to progress, in an upgrade in personnel within the squad, leaving lower-performing players away from the bigger picture.
One name that could see his Villa journey fizz out at the arrival of the 21-year-old is Bertrand Traore, who has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park over the past two years.
In the 2020/21 Premier League campaign, the 27-year-old made 36 appearances in claret and blue, in comparison to his eight appearances last term.
Jeremy Doku Aston Villa
A dip in form and rise in competition has proven too tough for the Burkina Faso international, with his bid to be reintegrated into proceedings at Villa Park proving to be a stretch should further wide players join the fold.
Doku has proven that he is more of a threat than Traore, making his potential move to Villa Park an exciting one for those involved, but a painful one for the 27-year-old who fell short to the young Belgian.
When comparing the 2020/21 Premier League season of Traore to Doku’s most recent campaign in Ligue, it’s clear to see just how much of a menace he could be in Emery’s system.
The Rennes star averaged a monstrous 7.04 progressive carries and 0.42 non-penalty goals per 90 last term in comparison to the Villa man’s 1.98 progressive carries and 0.27 penalty goals in 2020/21, via FBref.
The Belgian also proved to be a strong creative outlet for his side in Ligue 1, averaging 2.09 key passes per 90, topping the average of Traore in the Premier League who averaged 1.36 per 90 for Villa.
Emery could locate the perfect upgrade on the flanks in signing Doku, who could be an impressive acquisition for Monchi this summer.
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are becoming "increasingly confident" they'll strike a deal for Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane this summer.
Is Harry Kane leaving Spurs?
The 29-year-old is at the centre of another exit transfer saga, coming two years after his proposed move to Man City failed to materialise.
Pep Guardiola's side, back in 2021, made offers in and around the £100 million mark to try and prise away Daniel Levy's prized asset – but those bids did little to sway the north Londoners.
Kane still had three years left on his contract at the time, putting Spurs in a strong position to refuse any advances, but the situation has very much changed now.
Lilywhites head coach Ange Postecoglou even admitted to the media recently that he is very much "far from relaxed" about the player's consistent links with a move away.
“Fair to say I am not relaxed about it," explained the Spurs boss.
“It’s not something you go: ‘Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn’t happen!’ I mean it’s a very important part of this football club, not just the team, but the football club.
“So, you’ve got to deal with it, and I think, for everyone concerned, we don’t want to be doing it for too long. I don’t think that is good for anyone."
The England international has entered the final 12 months of his Tottenham contract, putting a host of top clubs like Bayern and Paris-Saint Germain on red alert in their search for a world-class centre-forward.
Man United have also been credited with a serious interest and some reports this week even suggest that they're Kane's "preferred destination", with Levy now "open to selling" given his contract situation.
Tottenham's Harry Kane
Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, speaking on a broadcast from the outlet, has shared the "latest information" he's heard on Kane's future.
Bayern are apparently growing "increasingly confident" of striking a deal for the attacker, and want face-to-face talks with Levy in Japan this week.
"The latest information we have about his future is that Bayern Munich are becoming increasingly confident that they can sign Harry Kane," said Solhekol.
"They believe he will become a Bayern player as long as they can agree a fee with Spurs.
"Obviously, that has not happened yet, but our colleague at Sky Germany, Florian Plettenberg, who is in Japan at the moment with Bayern Munich, has been reporting in the last hour that the Bayern chief executive Jan Christian Dreesen, and also the Bayern technical director Marco Neppe, want to meet Spurs chairman Daniel Levy this week – preferably for face-to-face talks.
"He's saying that Bayern want to treat Spurs with total respect, and Bayern also believe that they are not worried about reported interest from PSG. They have had some encouragement behind-the-scenes that they can sign Harry Kane this summer."
How good is Harry Kane?
The former Leyton Orient loanee dazzled for Spurs last campaign, scoring 30 league goals in 38 league starts, whilst breaking both Jimmy Greaves' all-time goalscoring record for Tottenham.
He also overtook Wayne Rooney as England's all-time greatest goalscorer, surely making him one of world football's most elite strikers of the last few decades.
If Bayern can somehow tempt Levy into selling Kane, it would come as one of the most high-profile transfers of this window, even with all the noise surrounding Kylian Mbappe's future.
Manchester United are thought to be eyeing a possible surprise move for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia ahead of both Liverpool and Chelsea.
Who is signing Romeo Lavia?
The Red Devils have been relatively busy so far this summer ahead of the 2023/24 season, with Mason Mount and Andre Onana already making the move to Old Trafford from Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively.
However, Erik ten Hag appears to be on the hunt for more additions ahead of his second year in charge, and it looks as if Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund will be the next big-money arrival.
A €70m fee has been agreed between the two clubs, with the player already agreeing a five-year deal. Hojlund has even undergone a medical and is poised to complete the relative paperwork on Wednesday ahead of an official announcement.
After the Denmark international, there could be more work to be done in midfield, with United and Ten Hag seemingly after a further addition to potentially play alongside Mount.

Reports have claimed that Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is close to joining the club and reuniting with Ten Hag in the process, however, it appears as if the Red Devils also have their eye on Lavia, a player who has been heavily in demand over recent weeks.
The Daily Mail shared a transfer update in the last 48 hours and touched on the race to sign Lavia, with Southampton expecting a big week. They said that Liverpool, following the sales of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson will make an improved bid, something which has now happened, whereas Chelsea have maintained contact as well.
However, the report adds that ‘a foreign club and Manchester United are the surprise elements still in the mix’. It is believed that the Red Devils would need to sell first before making a move of their own, whereas Amrabat is a cheaper option at around £25m.
It appears as if the Red Devils may need to sell before making any further summer signings, and at the start of the window, the club reportedly put 13 players up for sale.
Donny van de Beek, Fred and Scott McTominay were the three central midfielders who could end up departing, with those at Old Trafford valuing them at £20m, £20m and £40m respectively. Van de Beek has been linked with a move to Real Sociedad, Fred a switch to Fulham and McTominay at West Ham, however, they are all still on the books in Manchester.
Should one or two depart, it could open the door for the club to make a move for Lavia, dubbed a defensive midfield “monster” by journalist Benjy Nurick. However, with Chelsea and Liverpool both keen, it could mean that United don’t have the time to make their move, so may end up going for Amrabat.
It is good to see that Old Trafford officials aren’t looking to stop after the eventually secure Hojlund’s services, so they may well be active in the market right up until the September 1 deadline in regards to both incomings and outgoings.
Leeds United goalkeeper Karl Darlow hasn't made the move from Champions League playing Newcastle United to just "sit on the bench" this season, according to The Athletic's Phil Hay.
Will Karl Darlow replace Illan Meslier at Leeds United this summer?
After a few months of bad news and general misery for Leeds and their supporters, the team managed to inject a bit of life and hope back into the club after fighting back from 2-0 down to earn a hard-fought draw against Cardiff City on the opening weekend of the Championship season.
That said, the fact that the side went 2-0 down to a club that just managed to avoid relegation to the third tier by the skin of their teeth last season is still a significant concern, and one of the players that did little to help their case was goalkeeper Illan Meslier.
While he wasn't directly at fault for any of the goals, he was still unimpressive and could have done better with the first goal, with Leeds Live reporter Beren Cross giving him just a five out of ten for his performance.

The Frenchman will need to do better than that over the next few games, as with the £400,000 signing of Darlow from Newcastle last month, his spot is likely to be under serious threat from the former Nottingham Forest man, per Phil Hay.
He gave his opinion on The Square Ball YouTube channel, saying:
"Darlow I think will come into the frame before long I don't really don't think Farke has signed him to sit on the bench."
How old is Karl Darlow?
Born October 8 1990, the former Newcastle keeper is 32-years-old, which while just beyond the peak years for a goalkeeper – according to The Athletic – is a good age for a team's number one and should he perform well for the Whites, he could be there for several years to come.
Worryingly for Meslier, the Englishman has already demonstrated his ability to perform to a high level in the second tier on multiple occasions in his career, most recently with Hull City.
In his 12 appearances for the Tigers last season, he maintained a passing accuracy of 76.3%, won one Man-of-the-Match award and averaged a respectable match rating of 6.87, per WhoScored.
In fact, in his four spells in the Championship, he has never dipped below an average rating of 6.72, proving that he is more than equipped to step between the sticks should even the faintest opportunity present itself.
While he might've not quite had the quality to firmly establish himself as the Magpies' number one following their takeover and rise up the league, he certainly had his moments in the famous black and white, with club legend Alan Shearer lauding him for a particular performance against defending champions Liverpool in 2020, when he said:
"He should be very, very proud of his performance. When required, he came up with the goods. He was big and strong. He just kept them out. There was no way they were going to get past him this evening.
"The defenders in front of him had to work extremely hard, but when they got past the defenders he was just exceptional, superb."
Watching the battle for Leeds' number-one shirt this season will undoubtedly be enjoyable, but if Hay is correct, the writing may be on the wall for Meslier.
West Ham United have tabled their first official bid for Ajax star Edson Alvarez and he is "ready to fly" for a medical, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Who will West Ham sign?
David Moyes hasn't enjoyed the best transfer window of his Hammers career, as his side remain the only Premier League club not to confirm a single signing so far.
There have even been reports of a difference in opinion between West Ham's head coach and new technical director Tim Steidten, as both men apparently dither over who to sign before September 1.
West Ham, after selling star Declan Rice for a club-record £105 million to Arsenal, must now reinvest that money on squad upgrades and quickly as we enter the final phase of this window.
Gianluca Scamacca, despite having spent just one year at the club, has joined Atalanta in a deal worth over £20 million – meaning Moyes and co have plenty to spend.
Moyes, speaking to the press in late July, claimed his side have made "several offers" for players and remains optimistic he can get a few over the line.
“Because of the shortness of the summer and being in Australia. it’s meant the time has been limited, but I’m sure we’ll get down to work and do what we have to do,” Moyes told Sky Sports.
“The club have made several offers for players, we’re out on the market, we’re quite active, and hopefully some of them will come off in the future.”

Alvarez, who has been targeted to reinforce the West Ham midfield, has already agreed personal terms to join Moyes' side and he could well be the closest to being done.
That was according to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has now shared another update on the 25-year-old's potential switch to the London Stadium.
As per the reliable transfer journalist, West Ham have now sent their first official bid to Ajax for the player, and Alvarez is "ready to fly" for a medical if both clubs can agree a fee.
"Understand West Ham have just sent first official bid for Édson Álvarez," wrote Romano on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Package around £30m. Follows exclusive story yesterday on personal terms agreed. Negotiations continue between with Ajax. Édson, ready to fly for medical any moment."
The Mexico international, who featured at last year's 2022 World Cup in Qatar, played 31 games for Ajax in the Eredivisie last term – scoring three goals and assisting three others.
How good is Edson Alvarez?
Ajax's Edson Alvarez
The North American ace was a mainstay for Ajax over 2022/2023 and ranked among their best-performing players, whilst averaging their second-highest rate of tackles per 90 (WhoScored).
Alvarez, who completed a brilliant 88.9% of his passes last season, also won more aerial duels per 90 than any other Ajax player – highlighting what exceptional cover he can be in the middle of the park.
Members of the media have called the player a "monster" in midfield for Mexico over these past few seasons and it's certainly possible Alvarez could help to fill the void left by Rice.
Newcastle United are unlikely to sign Napoli superstar Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the summer transfer window, according to a key update from journalist Ben Jacobs.
How old is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia?
The winger, who is still only 22 years of age, enjoyed a fantastic season for Napoli last time around, standing out as one of the star players in Serie A, en route to his side winning their first league title since 1990.
Kvaratskhelia scored 12 goals and registered 10 assists in the league, proving to be unstoppable with his dribbling ability and trickery out wide, excelling alongside Victor Osimhen in attack and becoming a household name all over the footballing world.

The Georgian is arguably one of the most exciting players in world football currently and any club in Europe would likely want him, such is his long-term potential. Newcastle have been linked with an audacious move for him this summer, outlining the strides they have made as a club over the past 12 months or so, but an update has now emerged regarding a potential switch to St James' Park.
Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Will Newcastle sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia?
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jacobs admitted that Kvaratskhelia is not likely to join Newcastle this summer, instead staying put at Napoli:
"With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, I think that Napoli would only sell for an astronomical fee. Let’s not forget that he only joined at the beginning of last season, so he’s not desperate to leave.
"And I think a very likely scenario at the end of all of this will just be a new deal on improved terms for Kvaratskhelia at Napoli, so don’t rule out him staying."
This isn't a great surprise, in truth, with Napoli do desperate to keep hold of possibly their most prized asset, or only sell him for an absolutely extortionate amount of money. The players himself seems happy at his current club, and with his current deal there not expiring until the summer of 2027, it was clear that Newcastle would have to smash their transfer record in order to get him.
Should the situation change in any way, there is no question that Kvaratskhelia could be a special and game-changing signing for the Magpies, though – Brazil legend Kaka has hailed him as "very good" and Real Madrid manager Carlos Ancelotti has described him as a "great player" – and be someone who improves everyone around him, given the ability that he possesses.
For now, though, Newcastle should be looking at another outstanding wide option to bring in this summer – someone who can thrive on either flank and provide strong competition for the likes of Miguel Almiron and new signing Harey Barnes, ensuring that their squad depth goes up a gear with Champions League football to tackle, too.
It may not be the most pressing area of the pitch to improve in – a new centre-back to be Sven Botman first-choice centre-back partner could take precedence – but the money is there for the Magpies to spend and should they use every penny of it, if possible, in order to enjoy improved season.
Manchester City could make a move for Eberechi Eze if they miss out on Jeremy Doku, but they will have to do battle for his signature with a rival Premier League club, according to a new report.
What's the latest Man City transfer news?
Cole Palmer has impressed Riyad Mahrez with his performances in the early stages of the season, scoring the equaliser against Sevilla in the UEFA Super Cup earlier this week, but Pep Guardiola is still searching for a replacement for the Algerian.
At one stage, it was deemed "very probable" that Man City completed a move for Michael Olise, but the Crystal Palace winger has recently surprised everyone by signing a new four-year contract to remain at Selhurst Park.
City have also been linked with a move for Doku, with Kevin De Bruyne said to be driving the move for his Belgium teammate, and journalist Dean Jones believes he could be an interesting addition to Guardiola's squad, saying:
"Doku has got unbelievable potential and ability, but I probably didn't see him making a move like this so soon.
"He does always get me excited though when I watch him play. He's capable of really special things and is available at a very reasonable price as well, and that makes the deal potentially even more intriguing."
However, there will be stiff competition for the Belgian youngster, with The Independent reporting that West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are also on his trail, and the former have already submitted their opening offer.
The Sky Blues remain confident about getting a deal over the line, however, as they can make persuasive claims about coming to a club competing at the very top level, but they do have an alternative in mind if they miss out.
In fact, there is a feeling that all three clubs will pursue a move for Eze if they miss out on Doku, if the Palace winger does not commit to a new deal, with talks currently ongoing.
How many goals has Eberechi Eze scored?
Palace's £30k-per-week star has a total of 40 professional goals to his name, across spells with the Eagles, Wycombe Wanderers and Queens Park Rangers, and his 2022-23 season was his most impressive yet.
Having featured in every Premier League game for Palace, the 25-year-old registered four assists and ten goals, reaching double figures for the first time in the top flight, and his experience in English football could make him a decent alternative to Doku.
However, the Rennes winger is four years Eze's junior, and he is already performing better on some key metrics, including dribbling, ranking in the 99th percentile for successful take-ons and progressive carries per 90 in the past year, having completed over twice as many than City's other target.
Although it must be noted he has been playing in Ligue 1, a weaker league, the 21-year-old has also weighed in with more assists and non-penalty goals, displaying he should be Guardiola's main target this summer.
Eze has been hailed by Guardiola in the past, as well as being branded "outstanding" by members of the media, but there are clear indications that Doku would be a better addition to the squad.
Chelsea defender Thiago Silva was unfortunate not to win a penalty for his side on Friday night when he appeared to be pulled down inside the box only for referee Robert Jones to miss the incident – while VAR failed to intervene as well.
What's the latest on VAR and Chelsea?
It obviously hasn't been the best week for VAR and Chelsea after former referee Mike Dean admitted in the week to not sending off Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero for a violent yank on Marc Cucurella’s hair – all simply because he didn't want to put his friend and fellow official Anthony Taylor in an awkward position.
He said: “I said to Anthony afterwards: ‘I just didn’t want to send you to the screen after what has gone on in the game’. I didn’t want to send him up because he is a mate as well as a referee and I think I didn’t want to send him up because I didn’t want any more grief than he already had."

Well, at least the officials couldn't prevent the Blues from picking up their first win of the 2023/24 Premier League season on Friday as Mauricio Pochettino and co claimed a 3-0 home win against Luton Town.
Indeed, two goals from a scintillating Raheem Sterling established a comfortable lead against their recently promoted opposition, before Nicolas Jackson put the cherry on top with his first competitive goal for Chelsea.
However, the game did not pass without an incident for the PGMOL to mull over this weekend as Luton defender Tom Lockyer clearly grabbed the shirt of Silva inside the box but avoided punishment despite hauling the Brazilian to the ground.
In images shared on social media by the Sky Sports Premier League Twitter account, you can see the incident in question below.

— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) August 25, 2023
What did PGMOL say about Mike Dean?
On this occasion in the Chelsea win over Luton, referee Jones appeared to miss the incident altogether but seeing as the shirt pull was so blatant – as proven by the images above – it's a surprise that he wasn't called by VAR to check the indent. Had he reviewed the footage, he surely would have pointed to the spot.
In the end, this one dubious decision wasn't enough to sway the game in Luton's favour as the Blues proved too much to handle for Rob Edwards and his side. But on another day, such a questionable decision certainly could have proven to be very costly for the home team.
No doubt, Pochettino will be open for some more favourable calls from the officials as the season goes on.
What's more, after Dean's quotes on his experience on VAR, it's no longer a given that the officials will always follow the correct protocol to arrive at their decisions.
Although, responding to the claims with a statement, a PGMOL spokesperson said (via The Express): “VARs undergo extensive training with the focus centred entirely around effectively working with the on-field team of officials to rectify clear and obvious errors.
"When VARs identify a clear and obvious error by the on-field team and match officials, they should intervene and recommend a review by the referee. We strongly refute any suggestions that VARs do not intervene, for whatever reason, when they have identified a clear and obvious error.”
Crystal Palace host Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday, with both sides coming into the game off big victories in the League Cup.
When it comes to top-flight action, Wolves got their first points of the season on the board last week by beating Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park, in what might prove a vital win for Gary O'Neil's side against a would-be relegation rival. Palace, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with Brentford in an entertaining London derby.
So what can we expect when these sides meet? We at Football FanCast have look at what's come before.
Crystal Palace v Wolves: What's the head-to-head record?
Wolves have played Crystal Palace 74 times
Palace and Wolves have played each other 74 times in total, with the first meeting between the teams coming way back in January 1906.
That was an FA Cup tie that finished 2-2, with Palace going on to win the replay – which was played at the Crystal Palace Stadium, then the host venue for the competition's final – 4-2. Indeed, the Eagles won four of their first six encounters with Wolves, with their only defeat in that run coming in a Division Two game in May 1923.
Between March 1970 and March 1995, Palace beat Wolves just once from 21 meetings, though since then the fixture has been much more evenly contested.
But who comes out on top overall? It's Wolves, with 30 wins to Palace's 25. There have been 19 draws.

Crystal Palace v Wolves: What's the record at Crystal Palace?
Roy Hodgson's side host Wolves on Sunday
Of the 74 games between these sides, 37 have come at Palace, with the Eagles winning 15 of those matches. Wolves have claimed an away victory on 11 occasions.
Palace have certainly had the better of Wolves at Selhurst Park in recent years, winning their last three home league games against the team from the midlands.
The Eagles have scored 53 goals at home against Wolves, conceding 46 in return, so Palace just about edge that statistic when it comes to home matches.

Crystal Palace v Wolves: What's the record at Molineux?
Wolves have a good record against Palace at Molineux
The other 37 games have, of course, come at Wolves, who have the stronger home record when it comes to this fixture.
Palace have claimed nine wins at Molineux, with Wolves winning 19 times on home turf. Generally speaking, the home team has had the better of this encounter down the years.
Wolves have managed 47 home goals against Palace, so that's short of the Eagles' corresponding tally and only one more strike than Wolves have tallied in their trips to south London.
Palace, however, have been restricted to just 39 goals at Molineux.

Crystal Palace v Wolves: What's their Premier League record?
Crystal Palace have won five Premier League games against Wolves
Only 10 of the games between Palace and Wolves have come in the Premier League, with the sides first playing each other in the competition in 2018.
Palace have had the better of these meetings, with the Eagles having a 50 per cent win ratio, with Wolves managing four victories. One of those came in the first Premier League fixture played between these sides, when Matt Doherty netted a 56th-minute winner.
Since they were promoted to the Premier League after a 14-year absence in 2018, Wolves have only lost more league games against Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United than they have against Palace.
The Eagles beat Wolves for four Premier League encounters running between January 2021 and October 2022, but Wolves did triumph 2-0 in the last meeting between these teams, back in April.
Given this is the Premier League we're talking about, we can further contextualise the records with points. Wolves have taken 13 and Palace 16.
The only Premier League draw between Palace and Wolves came in September 2019, when Diogo Jota scored late on after Leander Dendoncker's own goal had put the Eagles ahead.

Crystal Palace v Wolves: Which team has the most goals?
Wolves have scored one more goal than Palace
There has been a total of 185 goals scored across the 74 fixtures, which results in an average of 2.5 goals per game – there's generally a fair bit of entertainment on offer when Palace and Wolves meet!
The pair are extremely evenly matched, but it's Wolves who just edge it in terms of goals scored, with 93 strikes to Palace's 92.
Interestingly, of those 185 goals, the 10 Premier League matchups have only produced 19 (1.9 per game on average), and there has never been a bigger winning margin than two goals for either side from those matches.
Indeed, eight of the Premier League games have seen the winning side keep a clean sheet. Palace have shut Wolves out on four of the five occasions they have won, while Wolves have kept a clean sheet in all four of their Premier League victories over the Eagles.

Crystal Palace v Wolves: What's Crystal Palace's biggest win?
Crystal Palace beat Wolves 5-0 way back in 1923
Down the years, there hasn't been much to split these sides, even in games when plenty of goals have been scored. However, Palace did claim an emphatic 5-0 win, way back in April 1923 in a Division Two match.
There isn't much on record about this game, so we can't give you the details of the Palace goalscorers, though it's worth noting they have only scored four goals in matches against Wolves twice since that huge victory in 2023.
Those wins came in Division Two in 1967 (4-1), and Division One (now the Championship) in 2002 (4-2).
Crystal Palace v Wolves: What's Wolves' biggest win?
Kenny Miller netted a hat-trick in Wolves' biggest win over Palace
Wolves gained revenge for that defeat in 2002 later that same season, when they thrashed Palace 4-0 in the reverse fixture at Molineux, played on March 1st, 2003.
Kenny Miller scored a hat-trick as Wolves continued their promotion charge to the Premier League, netting in the 40th and 80th minutes before rounding matters off with a penalty. Dean Sturridge scored the other goal for a Wolves side that featured the likes of Paul Ince, Denis Irwin and a young Joleon Lescott.

As mentioned, there has been little luck for Wolves in the last five times these sides have met in the Premier League, with Palace winning four of those fixtures.
These teams did meet in the third round of the FA Cup in January 2021, with Adama Traore's 35th-minute goal sending Wolves through at Molineux.
That FA Cup victory was Wolves' third straight home win against Palace, and despite that four-match losing streak between January 30th, 2021 and October 18th, 2022, Wolves reasserted their recent dominance of the fixture at Molineux when they won 2-0 in April this year.
Joachim Andersen's early own goal put them ahead, with Ruben Neves scoring a late penalty.
When it comes to the corresponding fixture at Selhurst Park last season, Eberechi Eze and Wilfried Zaha scored in a 2-0 win for Palace.
Crystal Palace v Wolves: How have they started the season?
Sasa Kalajdzic scored the winner against Everton
Palace have won one of their three league games this season, having started the campaign with a 1-0 victory at newly promoted Sheffield United on the opening day. The Eagles then lost 1-0 to 10-man Arsenal at Selhurst Park, before Andersen slid in an equaliser against Brentford last time out. Palace then dispatched Plymouth Argyle 4-2 in the League Cup, with Jean-Philippe Mateta scoring a hat-trick.
Wolves, meanwhile, were 5-0 winners over Blackpool in the League Cup in midweek. That win followed on from O'Neil's team ending a five-game winless run in the top flight that had stretched back to April.
Sasa Kalajdzic scored his first goal for the club to claim what could be a big three points against Everton, after Wolves had lost 4-1 at home to Brighton and Hove Albion in their second outing of the campaign. Before that, they were unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Manchester United at Old Trafford. They had plenty of chances in that game and should have been awarded a late penalty, but were ultimately undone by Raphael Varane's header.
Crystal Palace v Wolves: When is it?
Gary O'Neil takes Wolves to Selhurst Park on Sunday
Palace welcome Wolves to Selhurst Park on Sunday, September 3rd for a 14:00 kick-off (UK time).
While Wolves will be wanting to push on following their first win of the season, Palace will be hoping to build on what has been an impressive start in terms of performances, but one that has not so far generated the points they have perhaps deserved.
As has been the case with most of the Premier League meetings between these teams, do not expect there to be many goals, given Wolves and Palace have both struggled in that department as of late, ignoring those huge wins in the League Cup, of course.
Indeed, Wolves were the Premier League's lowest scorers last season, netting just 31 times across their 38 games.
