أعلن نادي الجيش الرواندي راية التحدي قبل مباراة بيراميدز في جولة الإياب من دور الـ32 من بطولة دوري أبطال إفريقيا لموسم 2023/2024.

ويلتقي بيراميدز والجيش الرواندي غدًا، الجمعة، في تمام الساعة السادسة مساءً بتوقيت “القاهرة” على ملعب “الدفاع الجوي”.

وكانت مباراة الذهاب التي أقيمت في رواندا قبل أيام قد انتهت بالتعادل السلبي، وإذا تكررت النتيجة غدًا سيذهب الفريقان لركلات الترجيح.

وقال هاردي لـ”بطولات”: “لقد وصلنا إلى القاهرة الثلاثاء الماضي، كان الاستقبال جيدًا للغاية من جانب مسئولي بيراميدز”.

وأضاف: “تدربنا بالأمس ولدينا حصة أخيرة على ملعب المباراة، نحن جاهزون وهناك استعداد قوي لمواجهة بيراميدز”.

وتابع: “لقد جهز المدرب اللاعبين من أجل تلك المباراة، أراح بعضهم عن مباراة مارين (في الدوري الرواندي انتهت 2-2) خوفًا من الإصابات”.

وواصل: “سنبذل قصارى جهدنا أمام بيراميدز، نعلم أن المباراة صعبة للغاية ولكننا قادرين على تسجيل هدف في القاهرة”.

Bangladesh coach Chandika Hathurusingha has pinned hopes on the batsmen for the two-match Test series against West Indies as he considers their bowling stocks “limited”. The first Test begins at Arnos Vale, Kingstown on Friday, where Hathurusingha expects Bangladesh to fight hard to enforce a draw.In the last series between the two sides in West Indies, back in 2009, Bangladesh had comprehensively beaten a weakened home side who were suffering a players’ strike. But the circumstances are quite different now. Bangladesh’s overall form has forced Hathurusingha into admitting quite early his target for the Test series.”Our realistic goal would be to draw the game,” Hathurusingha told ESPNcricinfo. “If we play well, bat well, we will be in the game. Our bowling stock is limited. We must look to bat deep and bat long, score runs and be in the game.”In only his third month, Hathurusingha has so far seen five ODI defeats, the country’s best cricketer being handed a 6-month ban and myriad other problems have come up on the field.”We are working hard on the morale,” he said. “It is not an aspect that can be changed overnight. It has to come from our action, not only from the coach and players but from everyone involved in cricket. We are working on that. I have seen them in only six ODIs so far. I have a bit of idea how we can go forward, what we need to do to improve in one-day cricket. But Test cricket is still ahead of us.”The focus was firmly on the batsmen, who have misfired throughout the year. Consistency has been missing, as was the case with Anamul Haque, considered one of the few in-form batsmen, who scored a hundred in the first ODI against West Indies but added 7 and 0 in the next two.It is worse for Bangladesh’s other leading batsmen too. Tamim Iqbal, Nasir Hossain and Mahmudullah have not scored much, while Mominul Haque has suddenly found himself in a dip. Mushfiqur Rahim has contributed regularly but not from a winning position.However, Hathurusingha had seen how the batsmen were able to put together a 350-plus score in the practice match against St Kitts & Nevis, and so he remains hopeful that they would put a substantial score together. Mushfiqur and Nasir scored centuries, and although there was once again a middle-order wobble, there were periods when the two centurions were in control.”In the first game [in St George’s], we batted well on that wicket,” Hathurusingha said. “In the second game we didn’t bat well. In the last game they really played well. The target was too daunting, in the middle we had a partnership although we had a big asking rate.”I think we are getting there. We are trying hard to understand our roles and finding the right way to play those roles. It is still an early stage for me to understand their strengths and limitations. I am all open-minded but I can’t get into too many details without knowing what they can do in the middle,” he said.What is worrying for Hathurusingha and the rest of the Bangladesh think-tank is a bowling attack without any experience of note. Robiul Islam, Shafiul Islam, Al-Amin Hossain, Taijul Islam and Elias Sunny have a total of 21 Tests.Since 12 of Mahmudullah’s 31 Test wickets have come in the West Indies, he can be considered a bright spot but batting is his main job and he has not been doing well. Rubel Hossain’s 19 Tests make him the most experienced, but his bowling average is the worst among bowlers who have bowled at least 3,000 deliveries. Hence, Hathurusingha has kept selection of the playing XI open.”We haven’t decided our final XI,” he said. “There are places for grabs for players to put their hand up. Until we have seen the wicket we don’t know what combination we will have. You know that we are handicapped, we have one spinner left. Our strength is spin so we are going into this game without that option. So it is a bit hard and we might have to discuss a different combination.”Our bowling attack is going to be tested on these wickets. The spinner who is coming is quite inexperienced. It is going to be a challenge for our attack, beside considering the wicket,” he said.When asked what he wouldn’t like to see from the batsmen in the Test series, Hathurusingha simply said, “I want them to see make a lot of runs.”

Asad Shafiq will enter the first Test in Dubai full of confidence after scoring a breezy century against the Australians on the first day of their tour match in Sharjah. Steve O’Keefe took 3 for 76, helping his case for a Test debut in what will probably be a twin-spin attack with Nathan Lyon.There was barely any turn in the pitch, and the fast men were only able to extract pace, bounce and movement with the new ball. The match does not have first-class status and both teams agreed to use all the players in their squads, with a limit of 90 overs per innings. At stumps on day one, Pakistan A had made 305 for 8 from their limited allotment.Shafiq reached his hundred, from his 148th delivery, with a pull to the midwicket boundary off Peter Siddle. He followed it with a six down the ground. The strokes were typical of the confidence shown throughout the innings by Shafiq, who finished the day with four sixes and was the only Pakistan batsman to carry on after a start.Many of his early runs came at the expense of Australia’s spinners as he looked dangerous in the second session. He smashed O’Keefe for six over long on and was also keen to use his feet against Lyon. When Glenn Maxwell was given three overs shortly before tea, he was struck for a pair of fours.Shafiq was happy to swing the bat as the last of Pakistan’s overs approached, with a couple of one-day style fours down the ground off Mitchell Johnson, and finished the day unbeaten on 108. The Australians will be acutely aware of his form when the first Test arrives next week.Australia spread the bowling workload throughout their squad, with Ben Hilfenhaus and Maxwell used from outside the XI who started the day. Lyon was the only member of the likely Test attack who did not claim a wicket, apart from the allrounder Mitchell Marsh, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury and will not bowl until the second innings.The most notable feature of the day’s play for Australia was the work of O’Keefe, who initially bowled quicker and flatter to keep runs down, but later began to toss the ball up a little more and encouraged some shots. Although that at times cost boundaries, including consecutive sixes over long-on when Shafiq used his feet, it also brought wickets.Babar Azam, who had compiled a patient 40, ran at O’Keefe for a loft down the ground, but found the safe hands of James Faulkner at mid-on. O’Keefe’s second wicket came when Haris Sohail, who had just cracked him over midwicket for six, was beaten next ball which drifted across him, straightened and took the off stump.It was the end of an entertaining innings of 43 from Sohail, who had struck two fours down the ground in one over from Lyon and frustrated the Australians in a century partnership with Shafiq. As Pakistan’s overs began to run out, O’Keefe picked up a third victim when Adnan Akmal was defeated by a little extra spin and steered a catch straight into the hands of Michael Clarke at first slip.That left O’Keefe with 3 for 76 from 23 overs, a rewarding analysis given the lack of assistance in the surface. Although Australia have plenty of bowling options, the likely Test attack appears to be O’Keefe joining Lyon in a spin pairing, with Johnson and Siddle as the two frontline fast men and Marsh as the seam-bowling allrounder.Siddle and Johnson found hints of movement and left Pakistan A at 11 for 2 after they chose to bat. Johnson had Shan Masood caught behind in the third over with a fullish ball that moved away slightly, and Siddle struck in the next over when No.3 Israrullah got a thick edge to third slip, where Steven Smith took a sharp catch to his left.Johnson’s pace was impressive early and after a long rest through the middle of the day, he returned with a few sharp bouncers to add some zip to proceedings later in the afternoon, including one that brought Shafiq has half-century when it flew over the slips for four. However, it was Siddle who claimed a second wicket when Raza Hasan was lbw for 5 as the shadows encroached, and Smith also chipped in with a late wicket.Shafiq was still at the crease having steered the innings after several of his colleagues made starts but failed to go on and post a big score. Opener Ahmed Shehzad took 12 balls to get off the mark but gradually began to find his touch with a boundary off the back foot through point off Johnson and an outstanding six pulled over midwicket when Siddle dropped short.Shehzad also enjoyed going after Lyon and used his feet well against the spin, lofting him over long-on for six and back over his head for four. But shortly after lunch, Shehzad fell for 55 when he played on to Hilfenhaus, who effectively performed the third seamer role that could be filled by Marsh in the Test match.Pakistan A went to stumps having used their full 90 overs, meaning the second day will begin with Australia’s openers Chris Rogers and Phillip Hughes at the crease.

Por falar em Jorge Jesus, uma frase através dele ficou marcada. Ocorreu durante um jogo-treino com o Madureira: “Tá mal, Arão!”, esbravejou o enérgico treinador, à beira do campo. O fato viralizou. Hoje, amparado por ótimos números, dá para afirmar que o “Tá bem, Arão!” calharia perfeitamente.

أعلن الاتحاد الفرنسي لكرة القدم استبعاد لاعب فريق تشيلسي، أكسيل ديساسي، بعد ساعات من استدعائه في فترة التوقف الدولي الحالية.

كان ديساسي قد تم استدعائه إلى منتخب فرنسا ليحل محل مواطنه، دايون أوباميكانو، لاعب بايرن ميونخ الذي عانى من إصابة في أوتار الركبة.

وتبين إصابة صاحب الـ25 عامًا بتمزق في عضلات الفخذ اليسرى، ومن ثم لن يشارك في المباراتين المقبلتين ضد هولندا واسكتلندا.

Demos confiança, coloquei no jogo por sinal de confiança. Ele (Diego Alves) é um excelente goleiro, assim como o César. A decisão de não tirá-lo do gol (após falhas recentes), foi porque me senti confiante. E sei que às vezes o torcedor não vai entender bem. Sabia o valor dele e acreditei. Dei confiança, coloquei no jogo, e ele sentiu essa confiança.

Everton (Ribeiro), em algumas semanas, tem vindo com falta de intensidade no treino. Não tem treinado tão forte como queremos. Está com um ‘problemazinho’, vamos tentar recuperá-lo durante a semana. Não damos muita carga durante o jogo para poder recuperar.

ANÁLISE E ELOGIOS AO VASCO
Na segunda parte, a equipe foi muito mais imposta, agressiva, ocupou os espaços do Vasco da Gama, que é muito bem trabalhada do ponto de vista tático. Temos que ter uma sequência de vitórias, não só no Maracanã.

DISPUTA PELO TÍTULO
É verdade que estão os três na frente e não vamos inventar nada e dizer que não são equipes com potencial para disputar o título. Neste momento, a melhor equipe é o Santos, a segunda o Palmeiras e a terceira o Flamengo. O São Paulo vai entrar na disputa, o Corinthians vai entrar. São equipes com elenco forte e acho que vão disputar a liderança do campeonato.

Australia fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has won the top ICC awards for 2013-14, being named the Cricketer of the Year, as well as Test Cricketer of the Year.South Africa’s AB de Villiers was named ODI Cricketer of the Year, while Australia’s Aaron Finch won the T20 performance award for his 156 off 63 against England at the Rose Bowl in August.England’s Gary Ballance was named Emerging Cricketer of the Year, while Sarah Taylor was named the Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year and Meg Lanning, the Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year.Scotland’s Preston Mommsen got the Associate and Affiliate Cricketer of the Year award, and umpire Richard Kettleborough was named Umpire of the Year.India seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar had previously been declared the winner of the People’s Choice award. England’s Katherine Brunt won the Spirit of Cricket award, for asking for a referral when a South Africa batsmen was adjudged out caught – the decision was eventually reversed.Responding to the ICC’s announcement, Johnson said his success as a fast bowler came down to his “attitude”. “Aggressive fast bowlers are something you’d have seen back in the day with the likes of [Dennis] Lillee and [Jeff] Thomson.For me, it’s nice to be able to contribute to the team and do the job that I’ve always thought I’ve been able to do. I suppose it comes down to the attitude I’ve got, the belief and the confidence,” he said. “I’m very happy with where I am at the moment and I want to keep getting better as a cricketer.”This [the awards] is something that I’ll be able to look back on in time when my career is over and be exceptionally proud of.”The winners were picked based on their performance between August 26, 2013, and September 17, 2014. In that period, Johnson took 59 wickets in eight Tests at 15.23 and 21 wickets in 16 ODIs at 33.04. Meanwhile, de Villiers had scored 963 runs in ODIs at 60.18 with four centuries.Ballance, meanwhile, made his debut in January at Sydney at the tail-end of England’s woeful Ashes campaign and went on to establish himself as the team’s new No. 3 during the home season where he scored 704 runs at 70.04 in seven Tests against Sri Lanka and India.His captain, Alastair Cook, paid tribute to the way he has slotted into the key position. “At the beginning of the summer I talked with Peter Moores about who was going to bat at three and for him to take it on and pass with flying colours is a real testament to him,” he said.”He’s a fantastic player and he knows his method incredibly well.
